4 Year Warranty

Introduction:

Thank you for purchasing GripTek Marine Decking and allowing us the opportunity to improve your vessel. This document entails the full entirety of our 4-Year Limited Warranty. This document outlines the terms and conditions of the warranty coverage provided by GripTek Marine Decking ("GripTek") for its marine decking products. This warranty is designed to provide you, the original purchaser ("Owner"), with peace of mind knowing that your GripTek Marine Decking products are protected against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of four (4) years from the date of purchase.


Warranty Coverage:

GripTek Marine Decking warrants to the original purchaser (owner) of GripTek Marine Decking products that such products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of four (4) years from the date of purchase by the Owner ("Warranty Period"). This limited warranty covers a wide range of defects, ensuring that you can enjoy your GripTek Marine Decking products with confidence.


Effective Date:

 Warranty is effective starting day of installation and expires at midnight starting the day of 4 year mark since purchase.


Covered Defects:

During the Warranty Period, GripTek Marine Decking will repair or replace, at its discretion, any GripTek Marine Decking products that exhibit defects in materials or workmanship under normal use and service. Covered defects include, but are not limited to:

  • Pits: Small holes in the material that are present from the supplier of the raw materials provided to GripTek.
  • Delamination: The separation of the foam lamination, which is the separation between the layers of foam.
  • Damage from Packaging: Damages to the product that occurred during the packaging process.
  • Production Errors: Mistakes or issues that occur during the production of the product.
  • CAD Errors: Errors stemming from the initial drawing or nesting of the covered product. *Note that errors found on the drawing that has been approved by the customer will not be covered.
  • Logistics Errors: Issues related to shipment, such as delivering the product to the wrong address or damage caused by the carrier's mishandling of the product.
  • Excessive Fading: Premature and/or excessive lightening of the color of the product beyond what is considered normal fading.
  • Material Degradation: Deterioration of material when exposed to the environment resulting in the loss of material.
  • Color Bleeding: Extraction of dye from the product when it gets wet.
  • Color Variance: Variance of plus or minus 50% from the original or intended color.
  • Workmanship: The degree of skill with which the product has been made.


Warranty Exclusions:

While GripTek Marine Decking strives to provide comprehensive coverage, there are certain exclusions to this warranty. These exclusions include, but are not limited to:

  • Installation: The application or installation of the product to the surface in which the product is being adhered.
  • Workmanship/Adhesion: The act or state of adhering; state of being adhered or united. This includes the adhesion of the product to the surface it is being installed on.
  • Light Amplification: An environmentally induced phenomenon that takes place when focused sun reflects/refracts off a surface. This can expose the product to temperatures above the maximum temperature of 165°F (73°C).
  • Mitigation Pads: Pads created to place on vertical surfaces or highly reflective hardware, gelcoat, stainless steel, or other areas to reduce the ability for those areas to reflect/or refract off of those surfaces.
  • Improper Storage: Storing the product in a manner that is not recommended by the manufacturer or GripTek Marine Decking.
  • Fading/Discoloration: Normal fading and/or discoloration of the product over time.
  • Black as Top Color: Any product that is purchased utilizing the color black as the chosen top color or the only color.
  • Customer Approved Design Errors: Errors found on the drawing or in the material after production, that has been approved by the customer.
  • Wear & Tear: The loss, injury, or stress to which the product is subjected to in the course of normal use.
  • Scuffs & Scratches: Scrapes, drags, chips, or roughened areas.
  • Animal Damage: Harm caused by animals, including scratches, stains, or tears.
  • Stains: Marks created by an outside source that are not easily removed.
  • Second Purchasers: Not the original order purchaser. In some cases, this may be when the product was installed by the OEM or a dealer of the OEM.
  • Cut or Altered Parts: Any part that has been cut or changed in any way by the "owner".


Warranty Claim Procedure:

To submit a warranty claim, the original purchaser (Owner) must complete a Warranty Claim Form available on the GripTek Marine Decking website. Original purchase invoice and photos of the defects are required for verification. GripTek Marine Decking will forward the claim to the material manufacturer who will then review the claim and, if deemed eligible, may provide a replacement or repair instructions in accordance with the terms of this warranty.


Limitations of Liability:

GripTek Marine Decking's total liability under this warranty shall not exceed the replacement value of the covered product. In no event will GripTek Marine Decking be liable for consequential or indirect damages of any type or nature.


Governing Law:

This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Lee County, FL, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

This warranty document constitutes the entire agreement between the original purchaser (Owner) and GripTek Marine Decking regarding the warranty of GripTek Marine Decking products and supersedes any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral.
